Missouri Dairy Revitalization Act of 2015
Sponsor: Rep Bill Reiboldt, District 160 (R) from Neosho
Recommendation: Oppose
The Missouri Dairy Revitalization Act requires money to be appropriated from revenues collected through sales tax of dairy products sold and then be used for subsidizing the insurance premiums of diary farmers, subsidizing the education of students in agricultural fields, and creates a University of Missouri program to study how to enhance the state's dairy industry.
The use of public funds to subsidize businesses is against free market principles and the Missouri Alliance for Freedom opposes the passage of HB 259.
